WHO WE ARE

Linger Gig Lab, Inc. is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit based in downtown Cimarron, Kansas.

We exist to do something simple and difficult at the same time:
give rural people – especially young people – real opportunities to learn, create, and build.

What’s already open:
• Soda Fountain — our 1934 fountain, staffed by paid youth entrepreneurs (YouEs) who set prices, invent products, and serve customers.
• Vending — an active route serving an area equipment manufacturer – Blattner Feedlot Construction.
• 3D Printing Lab — open to the public for custom print jobs.

This is what’s running. The rest of the building is next.

OUR MISSION

Everything we do is guided by a simple mission: Linger Gig Lab enhances rural communities by providing space and equipment for educational and experiential learning, for incubation of small businesses and entrepreneurial ventures, and for community gathering in a historic building.

HOW IT WORKS

We’re building a system where people can:

Not all of it is built yet.
But every piece is being developed inside this one building.

WHAT’S OPEN VS WHAT’S BEING BUILT

Open now:
• Soda Fountain (youth-run business)
• Vending Program (active local placement)
• 3D Print Lab (youth-run in temporary space)
• Public third space (8am–8pm)

In progress:
• Maker Studios (3D Print & Laser Lab, Print & Pack Lab, Content Studio – image and sound digitization)
• Shared-use kitchen (Gray County Food Works)
• Curiosity Gallery (T-Mobile Hometown Grant award to outfit a 3 public art walls for display of monthly rotating community art)

We’ve proven the model. Now we’re building the full system.

OUR HOME

Linger operates out of a historic building in downtown Cimarron — a space we’re restoring and activating floor by floor.

The main level is already open to the public.
The basement is being developed into maker studios and production space.

Throughout the day, Linger functions as a third space —
a place to sit, meet, work, and experience what’s being built.

WHAT’S COMING

As the buildout continues, the building will include:
• Launch Bays (small retail spaces for local products)
• Art Bays + Curiosity Gallery (rotating exhibits)
• Launch Lounge (workspace and vibe space for entrepreneurs)
• Content Studio (photo, video, storytelling)

Each space plays a role in helping ideas become real.
