WHO WE ARE
Linger Gig Lab, Inc. is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit based in downtown Cimarron, Kansas.
We exist to do something simple and difficult at the same time:
give rural people — especially young people — real opportunities to learn, create, and build.What’s already happening:
Our 1941 soda fountain is open and run by local high school students.
We’ve launched a vending program serving a local manufacturer.This is where the work begins.
OUR MISSION
Everything we do is guided by a simple mission: Linger Gig Lab enhances rural communities by providing space and equipment for educational and experiential learning, for incubation of small businesses and entrepreneurial ventures, and for community gathering in a historic building.
HOW IT WORKS
We’re building a system where people can:
Learn → Make → Package → Sell
Not all of it is built yet.
But every piece is being developed inside this one building.
WHAT’S OPEN VS WHAT’S BEING BUILT
Open now:
• Soda Fountain (youth-run business)
• Vending Program (active local placement)
• Public third space (8am–8pm)
In progress:
• Maker Studios (3D printing + production)
• Shared-use kitchen (Gray County Food Works)
• Packaging and content capabilities
We’ve proven the model. Now we’re building the full system.

OUR HOME
Linger operates out of a historic building in downtown Cimarron — a space we’re restoring and activating floor by floor.
The main level is already open to the public.
The basement is being developed into maker studios and production space.Throughout the day, Linger functions as a third space —
a place to sit, meet, work, and experience what’s being built.
WHAT’S COMING
As the buildout continues, the building will include:
• Launch Bays (small retail spaces for local products)
• Art Bays + Curiosity Gallery (rotating exhibits)
• Launch Lounge (workspace and vibe space for entrepreneurs)
• Content Studio (photo, video, storytelling)
Each space plays a role in helping ideas become real.
